New York-based Car Astor’s “Don’t Stop, Don’t Speak” is certainly one of the most unique songs to come our way of late. It’s essentially a pop song at its core, but the instrument that drives the track is bass guitar and we’re not talking about a smooth bass line like so many pop songs have.

Critically-acclaimed UK pianist-singer-songwriter Phildel’s new single “Electric Heights” hails from her upcoming third album, Wave Your Flags, which is due out on 3/22, and we’ve been listening to it several times a day since discovering it last week.

Robbie Williams seems to be juggling three careers these days. There’s the mega pop star who last released the album Heavy Entertainment Show in 2016. There’s the swing and jazz star who last released Swings Both Ways in 2013. And there’s the “b-sides” star who’ll be releasing the third volume in his Under the Radar…

Buckcherry’s new album Warpaint isn’t out until March 8th, but they’ve already blessed us with the first single, a kick-ass rendition of Nine Inch Nails’ “Head Like A Hole,” which happens to be my all-time favorite Nine Inch Nails song. Lick Neon has been gathering quite the following from playing basements and bars around their home city (and Love is Pop’s nearest big city) of Boston, but since their adorable folk-pop song “Slip” went live on Spotify about a month ago, they’ve already racked up over 30,000 streams. Considering what a touching song it is,…

“CES MOTS SIMPLES,” the beautiful new single by Vanessa Paradis, translates as “these simple words.” The video of Vanessa swinging with water below her, which she dips her tip-toes in, is rather simple, too.

If you love “the Bristol sound” made popular by Tricky, Massive Attack and Portishead, among others, then you’re going to be tickled pink in a good way by “Bones,” the debut single by FFS, otherwise known as For Fucks Sake, the new project by James of Arth and Arth fame, who I interviewed back in July.

‘”13″ is the latest single from Irish singer/songwriter Ciaran Lavery and it’s like Ryan Adams, Conor Oberst and none other than Bob Dylan sat in a room together and churned out a song. “Love is like a suicide,” Lavery sings, his lyrics raw and his voice a bit raspy.
