#songoftheday / #amlistening = CAR ASTOR: “DON’T STOP, DON’T SPEAK”

New York-based Car Astor’s “Don’t Stop, Don’t Speak” is certainly one of the most unique songs to come our way of late. It’s essentially a pop song at its core, but the instrument that drives the track is bass guitar and we’re not talking about a smooth bass line like so many pop songs have. We’re talking about a raw, aggressive bass line — the sort of lead bass guitar you’d get from a band like Royal Blood. It’s heavy and in-your-face, yet the winning song is as catchy as anything on top 40 radio right now with its addictive chorus and Car’s Debbie Harry-esque vocals, which are a mix of pretty and punk. We’re not sure if we should dance or mosh to it, but we love it.

“Don’t Stop, Don’t Speak” is available now via Blue Elan Records on all music platforms
