#songoftheday = LAURE SHANG: “I LOVE YOU 2”

Laure Shang recently released her new album, The Puzzle Pieces.  I’ve only heard the singles so far, but they’re all excellent, grade A, electro-pop nuggets, such as this infectious, track, “I Love You 2.”  (I would’ve purchased the album by now but Yes Asia doesn’t have it so far.)  The beauty of “I Love You 2” is how it sounds like early ’90’s techno and modern electronic music all at once, making it a timeless, instant classic already.   And if you’re wary of music in foreign languages,  don’t be because this song is almost entirely in English, like much of her recent output.  (Laure has done songs in Cantonese, Mandarin, and French, along with English.)  If catchy pop that’s more artistic than bubblegum is your thing then you’ve come to the right place.
