#songoftheday / VIDEO: Thalía feat. Daniel – “Estou Apaixonado”

Thalía has long been one of Spanish music’s biggest, brightest and most talented stars.  And her touching ballads have been a huge reason for this.  Some even call her the ballad queen.  Here, she does a moving — and very, very beautiful — duet with Daniel, another world music treasure, in the form of “Estou Apaixonado.”  Oddly enough, if we had to compare it to another song, it would be Phillip Selway’s “All in All,” which is a gorgeous if simple ballad from the Radiohead member’s Running Blind EP.  (Listen to the two songs back to back and tell us if we’re crazy.)

By the way, we’re actually not sure if this song is in Spanish.  According to Google translate, it’s in Portuguese and Google is pretty darn good at detecting what language things are in.  But, hey, it’s a wonderful, heart-warming ballad regardless of whatever language it happens to be in.  And so it’s our #songoftheday today.
