#songoftheday Studio Tan Feat Lauren Ashleigh: “Trippin”

A lot of “EDM” artists try to sound both current and retro at the same time and fail miserably.  Disclosure is quite good at this, but we can’t recall any other artist in recent memory who have pulled it off quite so well.  Until now.  “Trippin” by Studio Tan, featuring the vocal talents of Lauren Ashley, who co-wrote the song with them, has a main beat that sounds like 2014 house music, but the additional percussion sounds like an early ’90’s drum machine.  And the song over all has a very ’90’s vibe, and in a very good way.  Lauren Ashley’s singing style hear reminds us of vintage Sophie Ellis-Bextor, which is a good thing indeed.

“Trippin” is currently getting radio support from Capital Xtra and Kiss FM and the single package features remixes by Mark Martin & Ketteridge and Justyn Cousins.
