Frankmusik, one of the electronic music scenes very best artists, has been doing fewer remixes and more original albums of his own during recent years. In fact, he’d already released a few albums long before it ever occurred to Avicii to make a pop album. The latest addition to his discography, “These Streets,” finds him singing in a soulful manner that proves to be quite touching. And, yes, the beats are sweet. The lyrics are on point as well, helping the song emote heartache beautifully. In short, it’s about a guy who’s been dumped and only has his streets left. “Is this really what you wanted? / Now your past is only haunted / Of what you’re supposed to have with me,” goes the moving bridge that leads up to the monster chorus where the big beats slam away. Danceable, mid-tempo ballads don’t get better than this. In fact, we’d go so far as to say that this one evokes a big favorite of ours, Sam Sparro’s “Black & Gold.”
