#songoftheday MARIE DIGBY: “VANISH”

“Like summer rain, I hate it when you come and go,” sings Marie Digby on her new single, “Vanish,” from her forthcoming Chimera EP.  Like every song Marie writes, it’s poetic and lovely.  It’s also mighty infectious, the chorus wrapping itself around you like a warm blanket on a freezing cold night.  You hear this song and you feel like it’s embracing you.  It’s ironic, then, that the song is about your significant other vanishing on you.  Leave it to Marie to write melancholic lyrics and slip them into an upbeat song.
