Yes, the subject line of this post merited three exclamation points! We haven’t heard new music from The Bird & The Bee since 2010’s Hall & Oates cover album Interpreting The Masters Volume 1: A Tribute To Daryl Hall And John Oates. Obviously, this has something to do with how busy Greg Kurstin has been producing and co-writing records for such artists as P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Katy Perry and The Shins. In any case, their new track is called “All Our Endless Love” and it’s from the soundtrack to the upcoming movie Endless Love. Interestingly, it’s a duet between The Bird and the Bee’s Inara George and The National’s Matt Berninger. Initially, we were a bit skeptical, fearing their voices wouldn’t pair well, but we were delighted to discover that they fit together perfectly. A bit like the pairing of Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave on the song “Where The Wild Roses Go” or Vanessa Paradis and Carl Barât on “The Dark It Comes.” Suffice to say it’s one of the best duets we’ve ever heard and we’re pretty sure you’ll like it, too. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to embed it here, so you’ll have to use the link below to hop on over to Under The Radar to listen to it there:
The Endless Love soundtrack is due out on February 11 on Warner Bros. The movie opens on Valentine’s Day, February 14th and stars Gabriella Wilde, Alex Pettyfer and Bruce Greenwood.
