#songoftheday / VIDEO: Owl City – “My Everything”

Owl City gets a lot of crap because he used to make music in his parents’ basement and because people got sick of that “Fireflies” song.  But give his latest offering, “My Everything,” a listen and try to resist it.  It’s one of the best singer/songwriter pop songs I’ve heard of late.   So good it rivals the greats like MIKA and Ben Lee.  He was always a strong producer but now he’s exceptional.  He’s also added  quite a few live instruments to the mix, giving the song less of an electro-pop song and more of a singer/songwriter pop song.  I sincerely hope this becomes a big hit for him and that he achieves popularity even greater than he had at the time of “Fireflies.”  And I am dying to hear his new album, Mobile Orchestra, which arrives on Friday July 10th.
