We’ve loved Oh Land since the first time we heard her very artsy debut album, Fauna. Her following album, which was self-titled, was even better, the songs catchier and more accessible. Now she’s back with “Head Up High,” the first single from her third album, entitled Earth Sick, and she’s managed to concoct an even tastier treat. It’s truly irresistible with its slightly dark synth, punchy beats and gigantic chorus. Much like Charli XCX, she seems to be walking that fine line between art pop and commercial pop. And she’s doing so brilliantly, staying true to her artistic core while making a song that’s a bit more “mainstream” or commercial. Cheers to her then. And now we’re officially dying to hear her new album.
