Lenny Kravitz is an icon and a living legend. Even if you don’t like his music, you have to acknowledge that. For over 20 years now, he’s delivered his brand of pristine rock ‘n’ roll without ever giving a damn about what other artists were doing at the time. I mean, yeah, maybe he had a hit with his “American Woman” cover and he might have even been aiming for a hit with that one, but for the most part Lenny just makes his retro rock without worrying about whether or not he’s going to have hits. And his latest single, “Sex,” is Lenny at his best, delivering raw riffs with killer hooks and badass vocals that seduce the listener from the moment he opens his mouth. That it’s a song about everybody’s favorite rock ‘n’ roll subject is just the icing on the cake.
