#songoftheday / VIDEO: Erik Hassle – “Pathetic”

Imagine, if you will, Robin Thicke collaborating with The Weeknd.  Not the Robin Thicke of his recent album Paula though.  We’re talking about the Robin Thicke of “Blurred Lines” fame.  You take that song, make the vocals deeper, speed it up a bit, and give it a murky sound and, voila, you’ve got Erik Hassle’s “Pathetic.”  “It’s not bad swinging like that / I’m so emotionally needy, baby,” he sings with stunning falsetto.  “You got me so pathetic.”  It might be a bit too jittery for the dancefloor but not many of us going dancing around here these days, so we’re not complaining.  We like that it exists simply to be a killer song, not a banger or club-filler.
