So, this is bubblegum pop… Nobody’s denying that. Except, maybe, for Carly. But the rest of us know this is pure, radio-friendly cotton candy. But, you know what? It’s as catchy as scabies, except a lot more fun. Instead of making you itch, it just tickles you lightly, in a most pleasant manner. And, hey, the video stars Tom Hanks. Who knows how Carly got an Oscar winner like Tom Hanks to star in a cheesy music video, but it’s pretty darn amusing, seeing him sing Carly’s silly little song. Another thing: this really isn’t any cheesier than Taylor Swift’s pop music. So, maybe we shouldn’t be so quick to criticize Carly, as much as some of you would probably love for her to remain a one hit wonder because you still can’t admit to yourselves that you really, really liked “Call Me Maybe.”
