Placebo is one of those sacred bands to me. A band that’s so dear to my heart that I shudder at the idea of anyone covering them. So, I did not expect to like this at all. But I have to hand it to her, she more than does the song justice. It’s a rather faithful rendition, but, of course, it sounds dramatically different at the same time since Asami is, obviously, a female and her voice is very different than Brian Molko’s. Alas, it turns out that it puts a different spin on it, which is actually quite lovely. Check out her cover of Neil Young’s “Only Love Can Break Your Heart,” which she does in the style of Saint Etienne’s cover of the same.

As part of the Sony RCA UK and US signed girlband Neon Jungle, Asami achieved chart success including a UK top 10 album and two top 10 singles.
Asami recently signed to Storm Models for special bookings and she is currently working with producers, writing and recording new music.
I’ve always loved a bit of rock but I’ve not had a chance to show that in music yet… so now with Pure Morning I have!
While I’m working on my own music, A Cover Trilogy reflects just a little of what’s yet to come!
