I’m normally not a big fan of prog, but I checked out Sons of Apollo’s just released single, “Signs of The Time” because Billy Sheehan of Mr. Big is the bassist and he’s one of the best on the planet. Plus, the rest of the line up is great, too.  I’ve liked a few things Jeff Scott Soto has done in the past, which were always perfectly melodic, but he’s downright fierce here.  The remaining members of the lineup are Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian of Dream Theater fame and Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal of Guns ‘N’ Roses fame.  All very talented cats.  So it should come as no surprise, then, that “Signs of The Time” is both powerful and epic.  Be prepared to be blown away.

Eh, I don’t like it. The Korn grinding shit is like listening to nails scraping across a chalkboard for me.
