#songoftheday = SKELETONWITCH: “WELL OF DESPAIR”

Skeletonwitch are back, this time accompanied by new frontman Adam Clemans of Wolvhammer fame.  And the voice isn’t the only thing that’s different.  While their sound is still heavy as hell, their thrash influence is greater and, more surprisingly, “Well of Despair” finds them at their most melodic to date.  I bet you never thought you could call Skeletonwitch melodic death metal but you wouldn’t be wrong if you referred to this song as such.  I wonder if these changes will cost them any fans of their usual blackened metal sound?  I hope not, but one thing I know for certain is that it’s made an even bigger fan out of me, which I would not have thought possible, as they’ve always been my favorite death type metal band anyway.
