#songoftheday / REVIEW: THE SKYGREEN LEOPARDS: “LEAVE THE FAMILY”

The Skygreen Leopards just releasaed  their new album Family Crimes on July 8th via Woodsist Records.  We haven’t had a chance to check out the whole album yet, but we’ve been digging the lead track, “Leave The Family,” for weeks here at Love is Pop Central.  It’s one of the loveliest dream pop slash shoegaze songs to come around in a while.  Smooth vocals, warm guitars, uplifting keyboards — this one has it all.  There are a lot of songs that are perfect for summertime listening coming out these days but this song actually feels like summer itself.  Listening to it makes us reach for our iced tea, its glass wet with condensation, even when we’re not drinking one.  You feel the sun making your skin tinkle as it plays through your head.
