“Wildfire” is the second single from Laura Burhenn, aka The Mynabirds, upcoming third album Lovers Know and it’s an infectious little ditty if ever there was one. Often, The Mynabirds music features politically-themed, or otherwise serious, subject matter. But this passionate, uptempo love song shows Burhenn’s lighter side, which I found refreshing. Don’t get me wrong — I love her songs that make you think; I just think it’s nice that she can show other sides of her personality, too, which is something she does quite a bit on Lovers Know, which should come as little surprise, given the title. “We are wild wild wild / We are a wildfire,” goes the chorus. Sing along and enjoy yourself.
