#songoftheday / REVIEW: Elliphant – “Love Me Badder”

Elliphant is nothing if not original and I love her for that.  “If loving you was a crime / I wouldn’t mind to do the time,” she sings in the backseat of a car here, her hands and ankles tied together with duct tape as her lover speeds along, headed for trouble.  “No one loves me badder than you,” she sings in a grave manner.    Musically, this one is a strange but infectious mix of reggae and pop that packs a mighty punch.  And I’d love it even if the video wasn’t as killer as it is.  But, yes, it’s a killer — in more ways than one.
