#songoftheday / REVIEW: BUTCH WALKER: “FATHER’S DAY”

Like “Bed On Fire” and “21+,” two of the previous cuts to be unleashed from Butch Walker’s upcoming album Afraid of Ghosts, “Father’s Day” starts off nice and mellow and gradually builds.  It’s almost like having a conversation with someone that starts off as casual chit chat but then there’s that spark, that chemistry that turns a normal conversation into an exciting one.  Butch starts off calmly telling his story, but then he gets so wrapped up in it that he overflows with emotion and explodes.  A very emotive and truly wonderful track from one of the best singer/songwriters of all-time.
