“Don’t mean to scare ya, my friend, but I betcha / Come Father’s Day, the litter bug is gonna getcha / The urge is righteous, but the face is wrong / Well, I hope that somethin’ better comes along,” sings Matt Nathanson optimistically on The Muppets’ classic, “I Hope That Something Better Comes Along.”

Normally, Matt writes and sings his own songs, which we’re big fans of here at ol’ Love is Pop HQ, but we couldn’t resist making this cover today’s #songoftheday. It’s a children’s tune, to be sure, but it just seemed eerily fitting when we listened to it this morning. We’re sure you’ll join us in hoping that things are looking much, much better come this Father’s Day.
