If you like subtle, trippy rap then you’ll likely dig the latest single from Paris’ Manast LL’. It’s one of those tracks that might not make a huge impression on you at first, but if you listen to it a couple of times it sneaks up on you, worming its way into your head in a pleasant fashion. Unlike most French rappers, Manast raps in English, so don’t worry about being able to understand the language if you don’t parle French.

Manast LL’ is a young, 21 years-old, Parisian artist, inspired Pretty Ricky, Lil Wayne and Theophilus London. In 2014, Manast LL’ releases his second project as a mixtape names «NRNP», featuring producers like Astronote (Kendrick Lamar, Isaiah Rashad), Aayhasis (Ab-Soul, Tay Walker) or Felix.
In March 2015, Manast LL’ drops his second EP District 10th Prelude : Free Spirit in honour of his new neighbourhood in Paris. On this project Manast LL’ receives the support of artists such as Sam Tiba (Club Cheval, Brodinski), Astrolabe Musique, Jeune Faune as well as Asura & Leknifrug (Joke).
In 2016 Manast LL’ releases his new EP Known as Sookah this time with the renowned Parisian imprint Kitsuné. As many modern tales, this one starts with a girl. Sookah is a young woman who Manast met in the heart of winter, one of those beautiful but rocky relationships, bound to be complex and passionate. Manast LL’ character does not really differ from the person that embodies him. Through his flow, the young man speaks to us of his experiences, good or bad, that he always tries to translate into positive energy. The frustration of a love affair gave birth to the original track, the whole story being told throughout the EP thanks to the collaboration between his close crew and artists whose work he admires.
The acronym LL’ has become a signature for all the people close to the young artist, initially used to represent his mantra “LivLov” or “LivLife”. This leitmotiv represents his mood and lifestyle : always live and love every second with passion. No half-measures. No restraint. No false pretences. As always passion is creativity’s best friend.
