“A Teardrop To The Sea” is the first song Bon Jovi has released here in the States from what we believe is an upcoming album of out-takes. There are a couple of other songs floating around, including one that’s getting airplay in Russia, and those sound older than this one. If we had to guess, we’d speculate that this was recorded in between Keep The Faith and These Days. In any case, it’s a great ballad in the tradition of “I’ll Be There For You” and “Bed Of Roses,” although it’s considerably more melancholic and not quite as good as those. But, hey, those are classics and you can’t expect a song that wasn’t even included on its intended album to be on par with them. Still plenty good enough to be our song of the day though!
