#songoftheday / FREE DOWNLOAD / REVIEW: LEXIE ROTH: “LOST MEMORY”

Singer/songwriter/guitarist Lexie Roth’s “Lost Memory” is taken from her self-titled album, LEXIE ROTH.  While she is not related to David Lee Roth, she is the daughter of Arlen Roth, a legendary guitar god who has played with artists ranging from Simon and Garfunkel to Bob Dylan.  To our ears, her music is like a combination of The Pierces and Diane Birch, possessing the former’s knack for unique rhythm structures and haunting melodies and the latter’s talent for writing deeply heartfelt lyrics that tend to be on the poetic side of things.   The amazing thing about her music is how it sounds like classic ’60’s or ’70’s folk and today’s singer/songwriter pop rock fare all at once.  Plus, her voice is incredibly beautiful.  The nostalgic video, which is made to look like found footage from old VHS tapes, is rather cool, too.
