#songoftheday EEMIA: “SHY”

The wholly uplifting “Shy” is the first single and title track from Eemia’s upcoming Shy EP. It was written by Eemia herself and she also co-produced the blissful earworm of a track with Danny Andrews. We’re totally in love with her bright and soulful voice and the song’s delicious, up-tempo beats, which are ripe for cheerleading — or dancing — evoking Toni Basil’s classic “Mickey.”

Eemia hails from the small town of Clitheroe in the North-West of England. When she was just 18 she moved to London and began working with other writers and producers. In 2012 she performed at the Olympic Village, singing for the athletes throughout the summer Olympics. She also worked as a background vocalist on Leona Lewis’ critically-acclaimed hit album Glass Heart.

During the past year Eemia has been gigging around London and writing the songs that appear on Shy. The EP will be released on the 16th of March and we’re very much looking forward to it.
