#songoftheday = BUTCH WALKER: “END OF THE WORLD (ONE MORE TIME)” (#songsforourtimes #18)
“Skyrockets in flight / Get ready for a fight!” proclaims Butch Walker excitedly before a “hey, hey” during the bridge of his ultra-catchy ode to the end of the world, appropriately entitled, “End of the World (One More Time).” Rather than dreading the situation, Butch seems to throw his hands up in the air and say, what the hell, let’s have a blast! “Don’t worry about me / I’m doing just fine,” he sings, sounding happy-go-lucky as can be. Perhaps the subject matter is a little downtrodden, but he makes it sound like cause for celebration. Party!
An entertainment journalist for 20 years, Michael McCarthy was a columnist and contributing editor for the magazines Lollipop and LiveWire. He co-created and wrote for Cinezine, one of the '90's most popular movie E-zines. The only time he's not listening to music is when he's watching television shows and movies or reading, usually music magazines.
I was hoping you’d pick this one sometime! hats off to you.
