“Please tell me I’m broke / It’s much easier that way.” So goes part of X Ambassador’s “Low Life,” a song about fighting the good fight and losing. If you like melancholy, you’re in for a real treat here. This song will have you wishing you were a therapist so you could counsel the band after listening to this one. Sad, sad stuff. That said, we all get depressed and sometimes when you’re depressed you don’t want to listen to happy songs. Sometimes you want to listen to songs where you know the artist gets it, that they’ve been down in the gutter where you’re finding yourself at the moment. So, this one is a welcome companion for anyone who’s feeling down and out. Cheers!
