RED HOT SONG ALERT: THE TALKS: “RADIO”

Now here’s something you don’t hear on Love is Pop very often: a ska tune!  (In our defense, this is probably the first ska tune we’ve ever been sent, so we can’t be blamed for not covering any before.)  It’s a bright and vibrant tune called “Radio” and it’s by a hot band called The Talks, who have been generating quite a bit of buzz and lots of accolades during the past couple of years.  In fact, in 2012 their single “Can Stand The Rain” featuring Neville Staple of The Specials received over 55,000 views during its first week on Youtube; it’s up to 113,000 now.  And they have already toured in support of such acts as Rancid, Madness,  The Specials, The Beat, King Blues and The Toasters.  Suffice to say that they’re on the verge of a major breakthrough.  Something we’re more than happy to help them with here on Love is Pop because “Radio” is so damn addictive.  “My radio, my radio / Now who are we to what?” goes the earworm of a chorus.  But it goes further than your ear.  It crawls into your brain and stays there.  If it doesn’t do it for you the first time you listen to it, play it again.  We assure you that you’ll find it infectious by then.  Listen to it on repeat for a little while and it becomes downright hypnotic.  It might even make you want to dance, as its full of energy and jubilant vibes.  Now quit reading and let the music do the talking.
