MUST-HEAR!: BAT AND BALL: “LIZARD CUTS”

On their last single, “Stops My Mouth,” Bat and Ball delivered electronic beats with sparse guitars and cool basslines.  It was a somewhat melancholic tune with a haunting vocal courtesy of Abi Sinclair, who comprises the duo with her brother Chris.  Now they’re back with their new single “Lizard Cuts,” a deeply melancholic song about  “loss, desire and the deep human need to feel comfortable in our own skins.” Here, they deliver an ethereal vocal that skates over the icy, chilled out music.  They were already wise beyond their years, but now they’ve evolved even further, their lyrics in particular being leagues above those of their peers.  Give this one a listen.  It’s brilliant and intoxicating.
