KILLER SINGLE: Miner – “Better Instincts”

“Against my better instincts / I go against my better instincts,” vibrantly sings Justin Miner during LA band Miner’s uppity, new folk rock single “Better Instincts.”  At first, it sounds out like it’s going to be subtle electronica then it shifts to folk and then folk rock, by which point it will have totally won you over and might even have you bouncing up and down on your seat.  It’s the most fun song you’ll hear today, hands down.  We can’t stop listening to it.  It’s so damn lively that it’s as catchy as any infectious pop song.

“Better Instincts” hails from Miner’s second album, Tuanaki, named after an island in the south Pacific that was discovered in the 19th century, which then subsequently disappeared when sailors attempted to return.  The album was produced by producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Modest Mouse, Band of Horses) and we can’t wait to hear the whole thing.
