As you may recall from our post of their haunting song “Blackbird,” onDeadWaves is a duo comprised of Love is Pop favorites Polly Scattergood and James Chapman (Maps). “California” is their just-released new track and it’s a highly addictive, super lively folk pop masterpiece. “We’re all dead in California,” they sing jubilantly and you’ll be tapping your foot to the beat if not singing along, like it’s the greatest news — and song — you’ve heard all year.
onDeadWaves will release their debut album via Mute on May 20, 2016 and it’s one of the albums we’re looking forward to most this year, right up there with Garbage, Bat For Lashes and Tegan & Sara. Have we mentioned that it’s going to be a great year for music already?
