KTX’s “You Alone” is what people call a meeting of the minds. It started with classical artist Fabio D’Andrea, who routinely performs for A list superstars, heads of state and Royalty. He was performed the arrangements of songs he’d written with the BBC Concert Orchestra on Radio 2 alongside singers Gregory Porter, Laura Mvula, Mercury nominee Eska and Rebecca Fersusson. This caught the ear of Hal Ritson, otherwise known as Duke Dumont. Around this time, Fabio went to see the musical Matilda and one of its stars, Juliet Gough, caught his ear. So, when Hal approached Fabio about giving his song a club revamping, Fabio immediately thought that Juliet would be the perfect singer for the project and she literally jumped for joy when they asked her. And so KTX was born.
It’s hard to imagine that what you’re hearing above started off as a piece of classical music on a piano, eh? We know stranger things have happened, but we can’t recall the last time when a #songoftheday had such an odd background story. That’s not why you should like it though. You should like it because it’s a contagious, kick ass EDM track that’s perfect for dancing at the clubs, working out, or simply dancing in your seat. Dig the way the piano melds with the throbbing beats and Juliet’s soulful vocals; it’s magic!
