“Backpack” is a memoir of a French summer vacance shot in the French Riviera. It is a tribute to French New Wave Cinema nodding to Godard’s “Pierrot le Fou” and George Henri Cluzot’s “L’Enfer”.
“The real and surreal, terrifying and funny, the usual and unusual, the tacky terror, are all wrapped up in my Backpack,” Petite says. She finds pleasure and “freeness in feeling time in a physical way, in accepting the Backpack of symptoms.”
