If you daydream about someone starting an empire for you, then Of Monsters and Men’s “Empire” is about to become your new theme song. “As the wind fends off the waves / I countdown the days,” goes the poetic song. If the lyrics aren’t heavy, the music certainly is. It reminds me of seeing The National in concert, discovering how much heavier they are live. So, while this one might please your inner poet, it also kicks your ass. Wonderful.
