Kylie Minogue, Princess of Pop, is baaaaaacK (with a capital K for Kylie)! On her new single, “Dancing,” she does what she does best: she dances and she sings about doing precisely that. (How joyous!) So, rather than telling you why you should love it, we’ll leave it to you to tell us why you shouldn’t, if you’re going to be a party poop…
Actually, we lied. We are going to tell you why you should love it. First of all, it’s Kylie and she rules. Our editor-in-chief was even so impressed by how she handled her battle with breast cancer that he had her name tattooed on his wrist to help him in his battle with fibromyalgia. “If Kylie can survive breast cancer, I can survive fibromyalgia,” he says. And that’s one of the things that’s so admirable about Kylie — she always keeps going. If some artists were battling cancer, they might not put out a new album for five years but Kylie kept the train a rollin’ with a mere pit stop that flew by so fast fans didn’t even notice. She’s the real-life version of the Energizer Bunny or the Little Train that Could. An unstoppable hostess of fun that you can bring out during any occasion and she’ll put smiles on their faces with her uplifting, glittery, golden pop nuggets packed with hooks galore and that sweet, sweet, unmistakable voice of hers. Perhaps, then, it should come as no surprise that her forthcoming album, due out on 6/4/18, is called Golden. And if “Dancing” is any indication, it’s going to be quite a hit and, you know, go gold!
