I’m not a fan of Justin Bieber and haven’t heard his original version of this song, but CHVRCHES rendition is surely an improvement and a fine one at that, as they pour on their usual layers of radiant synth and cool electro-flourishes. Interestingly, they give this one a dance pop beat, almost making it sound like a remix more than a traditional cover. I suppose the Bieber version of the song has a dance beat then? Either way, CHVRCHES can cover anyone and make them sound fabulous.
