If you think we’ve been covering too much Christmas music lately, well, here’s your vicious, evil antidote to that, Marilyn Manson’s second song to be revealed from his forthcoming album The Pale Emperor, “Deep Six.” To my ears, it’s his best single since “mOBSCENE.” Blending elements of industrial and even electro-pop with a larger than life metal sound, Manson unleashes his creativity and lets it run wild. And the chorus is one of his catchiest to date. “Deep six, six, six / Six, six feet deep,” he sings and it’s sure to have you chanting along inside of your head, possibly even out loud. If the rest of the album is as strong as this it’ll be my favorite Manson album since The Golden Age of the Grotesque for sure. (You’ll cry sacrilege but my favorite two Manson albums are Mechanical Animals and …Grotesque.)
