Today my favorite band has released a delicious new single. The band, of course, is Garbage and the song is called “There’s No Future In Optimism.” Sonically, the Garbage album it sounds the most like would have to be Bleed Like Me, which is largely considered their rock album since they favored loud guitars over layers of loops on that one. But it also sounds like it could’ve been made during the sessions for their very first album, being that it has a mean, grungy bassline. But, of course, there are obviously many layers to its sound, like all of Garbage’s best songs.
The song is the first single from Garbage’s new album Let All That We Imagine Be The Light, which is due out on May 30th.
