Liberty N’ Justice’s new double album The Cigar Chronicles was released today. Founding member Justin Murr tells reports, “Because of the buzz and the preorders we are a featured release on iTunes on the main page of all music and on the rock page as well!” Very nice! The album features one disc of covers and one disc of original songs. Each track was worked on by various famous musicians, some of the vocalists being Kip Winger, Tony Harnell (formerly of TNT), Phil Lewis (of L.A. Guns), Ted Poley (of Danger Danger) and the late, great Jani Lane. This will be the last all-star Liberty N’ Justice CD, as founder/songwriter/bassist has assembled a new permanent band, making this the first time Liberty N’ Justice has been a real band in the true sense of the word in over a decade.

Paste magazine has announced PASTE.COM a new web magazine they’re doing. “Dangerous” Dan Toler, a guitarist who was part of the Allman Brothers Band, has passed away at the age of 65 from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). His family posted the following on his Facebook page: “It is with great regret and sadness that our dear friend and loved one, Dan Toler, passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. Future service to be announced. Please keep Debbie and the family in your prayers. We would also ask at this time that you would respect the family’s privacy. The Toler family thanks you for all your love and support.”
Yesterday Trent Reznor officially announced the return of Nine Inch Nails. Here’s Trent’s announcement: “Nine Inch Nails are touring this year. I was working with Adrian Belew on some musical ideas, which led to some discussion on performing, which led to some beard-scratching, which (many steps later) led to the decision to re-think the idea of what Nine Inch Nails could be, and the idea of playing a show. Calls were made to some friends, lots of new ideas were discussed, and a show was booked – which led to another, which somehow led to a lot of shows. The band is reinventing itself from scratch and will be comprised of Eric Avery, Adrian Belew, Alessandro Cortini, Josh Eustis, Ilan Rubin, and me. The first shows will begin this summer, followed by a full-on arena tour of the US this fall, and lots of other dates worldwide to follow through 2014. Lots of details and dates to come. See you soon.” Alessandro Cortini (keyboards/synth /guitar/bass) and Ilan Rubin (drums) were previously in NIN, but the other members are new. Bassist Eric Avery is from Jane’s Addiction, though he recently performed on tour with Garbage and may be continuing to do so for the time being. Adrian Belew, a multi-instrumentalist, hails from King Crimson and Josh Eustis hails from Puscifer and Telefon Tel Aviv. In related news, Trent’s other group, How To Destroy Angels, will be releasing their debut album on March 5th.
