PHASES, one of the best bands we’ve encountered since we started Love is Pop, is now streaming their new album, For Life, on Entertainment Weekly. Normally, we don’t make posts about things on other sites, but PHASES’ album is just too good for us not to share it with you. Who are PHASES? Longtime friends Z Berg (The Like), Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley/Bright Eyes), Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet) and Michael Runion. They released an album under the name JJAMZ in 2012, but at the time they weren’t very serious about it. They hadn’t finalized their line-up or determined what direction to go in. They weren’t even sure they’d make another album. Fortunately, they did. And they changed their name to PHASES, which we like much, much better than JJAMZ. We will be giving For Life a positive review when it comes out next Friday, but in the meantime you should click on the Entertainment Weekly link above and go stream it. They’re like CHVRCHES but even catchier, as hard as that is to believe!
