This one took us a few listens to get into. Our intern, Gas Monkey, still isn’t sure if he likes it. In any case, it’s one of those abstract remixes that you wind up either loving or hating. During the first minute of it, it’s mostly ambient humming and odd sounds along with faint vocal samples, but around the one minute mark the “Hey Mami” vocals kick in and sound wonderful. From that point we were in love with it. It doesn’t wind up using the vocals from the entire song, or at least they’re all spliced and diced, and we would have liked it even more if it had used all of the verses and choruses from that point on instead of getting bizarre again but it’s quite the grower. Give it a couple of listens. And we’d love to know what you think.
