Yes, the most exciting music rumor so far this year is true: Ireland’s most legendary band, The Corrs, are back! As in, the hugely popular and highly successful family band are making a new album and planning to tour! That’s all that is known as of yet, so I thought I’d give you a little refresher course via five official videos for some of their very best songs… Please not that these videos are 10 – 20 years old, hence some not being in HD quality, though blessed be those fine peeps are Rhino for posting HD versions of some of them last year…
The reason I’m so excited about this is that The Corrs have always been one of my favorite bands, their gorgeous, usually romantic songs the stuff that makes one’s heart flutter, any of their albums the perfect soundtrack to listen to when you’re having a major crush on someone (or if you’re already a happy couple)… There are a few sad songs in their catalog but they’re largely outnumbered by the optimistic…So, get ready to fall in love with the band to fall in love with… The Corrs! (And can I also say that I’ve always had a big crush on Andrea, the lead vocalist? Although, to be fair, all three of the sisters are gorgeous — and I’m sure plenty must find the brother attractive, too!)
If none of these tugged at your heartstrings at all then I should think you haven’t got a pulse!
Fun factoid: In 1997 The Corrs second album, Talk On Corners, hit number one in the UK, meanwhile their debut, Forgiven Not Forgotten, was number two, which made them the first band since The Beatles to hold the number one and number two spots on the UK albums charts simultaneously.
